MY ORIGINAL WORK
Shock Therapy as a Treatment for Primary Dysmenorrhea
More than half of menstruating women in the world suffer from some degree of period pain and pelvic cramps. This is generally called dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain where females experience contractions which can cause significant pain and discomfort in the woman’s lower abdomen. Sometimes, the pain can be so intense that it can affect the social and mental aspects of a woman’s life where she may be reluctant to go to places of school and work and often sees herself trying to occupy herself or take medications to take away from the pain. In my research, I wanted to discover or modify a method in which women can easily use throughout their lives to ease the symptoms and pain of dysmenorrhea.
